USBS INSTRUCTOR joins RED SOX


U.S. Baseball School hitting instructor George Lombard has joined the the Boston Red Sox as the hitting coach for the short season-A affiliate Lowell Spinners of the NY Penn League.   

George was a 2nd round draft choice for the Atlanta Braves in 1994 and brings 16 years of professional baseball to the Red Sox including Major League experience with the Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays and most recently the Washington Nationals.  George was also a Southern League (AA) all star during the 1998-1999 season while he was playing in the Atlanta Braves organization .

In addition to great power at the plate, George has amazing speed and was an outstanding base stealer. 

George will instruct hitters at the Red Sox spring training facility in Fort Myers, FL until June and then will head up to Lowell after the draft to start with the Spinners.  Congratulations to George!
