YOUTH PLAYER OPTIONS (Ages 8-14)

Learning proper mechanics from an early age is crucial to player development.  Although players might be able to get away with bad mechanics early on, as they get older and start playing against better competition, proper mechanics become more and more important.

THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE: 

  • Recreation, Little League, Travel Level- 8-16 years old: 6,000,000 players nationwide
  • High School Varisyt Level-17-18 years old: 450,000 players nationwide
  • College Level-18-22 years old: 35,000 players nationwide
  • Professional Level- 1,500 players nationwide get drafted to play for a MLB Organization
  • MLB Level- Less than a couple of hundred players per year make it to "the show"

THE BOTTOM LINE: It gets tougher and tougher to continue playing baseball at higher levels unless the player addresses every detail to give himself the best opportunity for longevity.
